Major failure. Don’t even want to talk about it.

I am attempting it as well. I was borderline on whether I was going to do it this month but then my credit card statement printed and it was 1.5k of spending in october! (household stuff - I bought two new area rugs and the rest was mostly failure to properly plan meals so a lot of eating out/ordering in last month - but still, that's a big bill!) So I paid off the balance on the card and swore no more un-needed expenses this month, wrote a meal plan and got some steely resolve. But... I pulled the trigger on the holiday presents for my children so I could ensure that we had them in time due to some postage strikes and delays in our area. $285. For this I am sort of like, well, there's little difference between that money being spent in November or holding off until December, it was earmarked for this purpose anyway. And I went to Goodwill's 50% off sale on Friday and ended up leaving with a hand-made quilt, a skirt and two sweaters for me and a pair of Tigger overalls for my baby. $13.50.

I bought $40 of Korean food to curb my desire to buy clothing. :( (and I thrifted a t-shirt for 99 cents...)

I am attempting no buy November, but did buy needed jeans today.

I didn't buy any clothes! I think I've been replacing it with take-out. So I'm gonna add that to my no-buy november. No clothes, no take-out.

Got two transitional jackets since I moved to a new climate. I think I can hold out for the rest of the month, but black Friday will be the last big challenge.

Failed planned purchase! My planned purchase is a pair of leather or moto leggings. Criteria are comfy and can be worn with long sweaters. I've been looking for the perfect pair since July. I bought a pair of Aritzia leggings (the faux leather Daria pant) and I'm already regretting them. The SA told me to get a tight pair because they will stretch, but so far they're just really tight in the wrong places and I wish I had saved my money. I wore them out for a day and they haven't stretched yet, sooooo I can't say I'm holding my breath.

I was considering this but REI had a sale and I have no California appropriate hiking clothes sooo, yeah. Not exactly "fashion" purchases because all I got was a sports bra, thermal zip shirt and tech leggings but honestly I might wear some of it casually.

I bought some wool socks from Costco, and I ordered some of my favorite pens from amazon. So I guess I failed, but no regrets cause those wool socks from Costco are amazing, and I don’t have a membership so it’s rare that I have the opportunity to get them!

I just bought my friend her birthday present. A cashmere sweater. I think that dent in my bank account will stop me from even considering getting myself anything for a bit. Still got 3 more gifts to buy. So there’s probably no way I can afford anything for myself.

My plan is to stop unnecessary purchases, like numerous nude lipsticks or yet another floral blouse, and have a week waiting time on other purchases. I've made an elaborate spreadsheet that lists the things I'd like to buy with reasons, ratings on how much I need it and an approximated timeline for when I can buy it. This has helped me put a lot of purchases into perspective. I'm allowing anything that fills gaps in my wardrobe, as I just went through and donated 2/3 of it and do actually need some key items. However, I do not need more floral blouses, and I do not need more nude lipsticks! I am going to be pulling the trigger on a new pair of boots for the winter, as this is something I need. Today I bought a plum lip cream, a color I actually didn't have, from CVS with a bunch of coupons, and a pair of llama socks from LOFT with my discount. Those things together cost $5, so I'd say so far I'm doing well! Edit: How do you like Cladwell or Stylebook? I want to get a similar app but never know which to try.

I've not bought any clothes, makeup, or skincare. Just stuff for the house that needs to be replaced (mostly furniture, as we junked most of what we had before moving).

I'm actually doing well! I put out a cardboard box and have been filling it with items to give to Good Will. Now that I have all of my winter stuff back out I'm seeing a lot of things that I just don't like. I'm doing it slowly though. As I get dressed in the morning when I'm picking clothes for work I just go, "I really don't feel comfortable with how thin this fabric is and the there's a weird fold in the crotch!" (I'm looking at you, orange pants that I want to love but you just don't fit me right) I'm at a point in life where I need to edit my wardrobe and replace fast fashion pieces with longer lasting pieces. I've made so many bad purchases >.<

I guess I technically failed because I bought more wool socks at Costco, but in my defense I didn't realize how many of my pairs had holes. It's certainly a practical purchase, so I might let this one slide. I bought a journal at Target so I can keep track of my temptations - and just in general my feelings/concerns/whatever - so my goal is to make myself actually write in it. So far I've kept it on my pillow so I physically have to move it when I want to crawl into bed, and that reminds me that I should write something each night. So far $5 well spent!

Total failure. BUT. i’ve lost 70lbs this year, my wardrobe was decimated and the weather took a sharp drop off from 70s to 40s - i desperately needed some winter clothes because i can’t wear a single thing i used to so i thrifted a couple of jackets, and got a couple of pairs of jeans and sweaters at the GAP 40% off sale. I’m trying to make up for it by listing a bunch of stuff for sale on poshmark and in this community to at least offset it.

I’m doing the opposite this month! I never prioritize clothing in my budget. I can’t tell you how many times I put stuff in an online cart and happily leave the page. My wardrobe has suffered greatly. I have clothing and shoes that look like they’ve been through hell and back because I tend not to replace things until they are literally falling apart. And usually when I do replace something I usually buy cheap stuff from old navy. I’ve decided I’m investing $300 a month in myself. That’s clothing and beauty. Yesterday I bought two new wool sweaters from Ann Taylor (40% off), four basic tees from Everlane, and I really splurged and bought two more sweaters from Sezane. I’ve been drooling over Sézane for the last three years daydreaming of wearing one of those beautiful sweaters. In a moment of clarity I just decided to do it. I’m so happy! I never do this. I really am going for a polished adult look and I can’t do that by buying old navy clothes all the time.

Was attempting, but then Everlane offered jeans for $50 (normally like $70). I was gonna wait to buy a pair in December buuutttt they'll arrive next Friday...

Just finished a No Buy October and so far I haven't gotten anything for November, but I might need to buy a sweater or two and maybe some long sleeve shirts just because it's finally gotten cold. I also kind of want to get a pair of white tennis shoes to replace my old converse which have a lot of miles on them and maybe a pair of tennis shoes in the hopes I'll actually start exercising if I have proper footwear. So yah, we'll see I guess...

Doing good so far! Helps that I really need to catch up on credit card bills this month. I will admit I filled up two shopping carts online on separate instances and was about to say F it all, but X’ed out of them at the last minute. I did buy a Christmas present for a friend but I don’t think those should count..

I semi-failed. I bought three new pairs of leggings...but only after pulling out my old leggings and realizing they were all worn/ripped/holey. A couple of them have been repaired before, but all of them were super faded. Most of winter is leggings/oversized sweaters, so I will definitely wear these, and I stuck to solid colors so they're versatile. I'm planning on taking my old ones to H&M (my store offers store credit for clothing recycling) and I'm actually getting rid of more than I'm keeping. So it's kind of a wash...disappointed that I bought something, but glad it wasn't a total impulse and was actually something I "needed" and will wear.

A day after I said I was going to participate, the zipper on my black skinny jeans broke! So I had to buy a new pair. I ended up picking up a new pair of burgundy full-length pixie pants too, since they'll look better than my dyed-burgundy jeans. I also had to buy some new workout clothes too, since the stuff I have is uncomfortably tight =/

Doing better than anticipated! I had one slip up and bought a skirt and top (to put together as an outfit instead of more random singles, so that’s at least a good thing?) but they were both on clearance. I returned a dress I bought last month though, even though it’s cute and I like it, because I already have something similar. Honestly, knowing I had posted I was going to do a No Buy November has stopped me making a few impulse purchases. Accountability really keeps you on track!

On track for no-buy clothing! But I'm channeling my shopping urges into shopping for my nieces and nephews. Still spending less than last month! I also created a stack of items I plan to sell and finally donated my bag of things that have been accumulating. No quite related, but getting the clutter out helps me feel happier with what remains.

So far so good!! It has helped me to slow down with my recent spending habit and actually start wearing the clothes I’ve bought over the summer through October. The only things I’m allowing myself to buy are necessities/groceries and a birthday present for my husband :)

I just bought the most gorgeous 1950s vintage red velvet A-line skirt in my size on eBay for $22. November has been great so far.

Doing well on avoiding clothing expenses- since I saw the initial post, anyway, as I impulse bought some booties that were on sale for <$20 at the beginning of the month before that. Was tempted by other sales, but evaluated whether I *really* needed another fast fashion sundress (it's fall, sepiolida, so no) or if I was just chasing the thrill of bargain hunting (definitely this). In other categories: I recognize I've gone out of my way to buy books this year to support authors, but my to-read pile is long and the library is free, so a no-buy on books is in effect, probably until I read through half of what I've gotten this year (I have a similar "no new things until I've gone through over half my stash" for nail polish). I *really* need to rein in dining out, though- I'm pretty lazy re: cooking, but I've tried to get more into it with Instant Pot recipes. I also spent $87 on limited edition bottle releases at a local brewery, but that's my BF & I's hobby, where we keep some to age and get one to share with friends.

I haven’t bought anything, I’m actually so proud of myself! I switched the credit card in my wallet to one that I don’t like to use and that has been helpful! I have a vacation coming in January so that is helping to keep me motivated!

Surprisingly well so far. I had to stop myself from buying the 10/$35 VS panties (but I neeeeeed new ones... no, no I don’t), but otherwise, I’ve been focusing on our upcoming adoption and protesting our shitty government, and I haven’t felt the overwhelming need to shop. That being said, we’re in Pittsburgh for the weekend, and we’ll see what happens today...

I haven’t bought anything but i am still waiting on a few things from October to come in the mail (a tshirt and a camisole). So far i’m fine. I’m very poor so i’m not a big spender. I like to “like” things on Depop and think it over for a week or 2 before buying, if at all. I did buy new socks, underwear, bras, a coat, shoes, and several dresses & jeans so far this year. So i’m definitely dressing myself warmer/better than previous years. But taking a month away from any unnecessary spending has been great. I’ll do No buy july too😅

H&M opened here on the 2nd and I couldn’t resist, I know, so basic. But other than that I’ve tried super hard. Went round to my younger sisters house today and raided the bag she Packed with stuff for goodwill. So there’s my summer wardrobe sorted, all upcycled! (She is super trendy so it’s all good stuff)

I was going to buy them in October, but I am going to a wedding next Saturday and needed shoes to match the dress. Got busy and didn’t buy them prior to November. Bought them today.

I’d been telling myself I could wait until next year to get scarves and light (preferably merino or cashmere sweaters) for work and I put a couple of necklaces that hit mid-chest on my Christmas wishlist. Welllllll we just found out my husband got his raise on Friday. So I hit up all the Ann Taylor/Loft/Banana Republic/White House Black Market 30-50% off sales and got exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a blanket scarf, preferably grey and camel and there was a beautiful, soft one at Ann Taylor so I got that. I’ve had “emerald green sweater side slit” on my wish list for months and found exactly that in merino wool at BR, liked the cut so much I got it in burgundy too. Got a pearl studded sweatshirt in 2 sizes at Loft, one so I could layer it over button downs. I found a perfect onyx necklace that goes with earrings my husband got me for Xmas 2 years ago, $22. Looked at an expensive cashmere burgundy scarf but actually preferred the old navy infinity scarf so I looped back around to get that. All in all I’m very pleased to have filled some gaps in my wardrobe perfectly. I do want to make more of an effort to look for sweaters at thrift stores though.

    throwaway-passing-by

I’ve only bought necessities so far, and no clothing. The only thing I’m thinking of purchasing is a cotton blouse from Banana Republic. I bought one last month and it’s perfect for my dress code at work, and it’s still in stock so I might get one more. Also...my pay switched to bi-weekly last month and the change completely withered my spending habits. I always wind up depositing the majority of the paycheck to savings.

I bought a Free People skirt, which was planned... and then I bought an impromptu Jaeger jumper to match it, which was not. Ah, well.

I haven’t bought any clothing - one sweater from Old Navy that I’m going to return. And I got $8 from a price drop in a clothing item from Old Navy last month, so I’m at -$8 so far for clothing spending in November.

Havent bought any clothes! I'm so happy. And I've filled two garbage bags of clothes to sell and give away. I made some replacement purchases and a couple of necessities but I'm totally comfortable with that. My no buy is specifically for clothes lol

I found a $39.99 pair of Lucky Brand jeans at Marshall’s and I bought them immediately. I suck at this.
